The University of South Africa (UNISA) entered into a cooperation agreement with the African Union Commission in 2014 to assist the Commission in research capacity building and capacity development initiatives as part of the implementation of the African Union Agenda 2063. As part of the implementation of the agreement, officials from the University of South Africa and other collaborators from Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa visited the James Michel Blue Economy Research Institute at the University of Seychelles on the 25th of September 2017. Discussions related to strenthening cooperation in areas relating to economic development and the Blue Economy were discussed.
