GVI Seychelles

GVI Seychelles

GVI is a community outreach and conservation focussed social enterprise, which has been running volunteer programs since 1998. We aim to facilitate participants’ development into global citizens in an effort to build a global network of people united by their passion to make a positive long-term impact.

GVI has been operating in Seychelles since 2004 collecting data and conducting research in collaboration with the Seychelles National Parks Authority, University of Seychelles and multiple other partners. Our research portfolio is diverse and includes coral reef monitoring, hawksbill turtle nesting surveys, beach profiling, invasive species eradication, Coco de Mer growth surveys, BRUVs, giant tortoise census, lemon shark research and wetland biodiversity surveys to name a few. Over the years, GVI Seychelles has published its research in scientific journals, presented findings at international conferences and contributed to the GCRMN Status of the reefs reports.

WiseOceans

WiseOceans

WiseOceans is a marine conservation and education company that works globally to strive towards a future with healthier oceans. We believe that education is a key driver for long-term behavioural change and, critically, we believe in positivity and empowerment as the means through which education can inspire action. Through education we inspire, engage and empower people to make steps to achieve healthier oceans now and in the future.

WiseOceans has been a part of Seychelles’ marine conservation sector since 2012 delivering Marine Discovery Programmes at luxury resorts on both Mahé and Desroches as well as a Reef Restoration Project in Petite Anse. We also engage with schools, teachers, local NGOs and community organisations, providing marine education through workshops, field trips, internships, youth programmes.

Visit the WiseOceans website for more information.
