The Sir James Mancham International Centre for Peace Studies and Diplomacy and the James Michel Blue Economy Research Institute in collaboration with Cardiff University hosted a workshop on maritime governance and the relationship between maritime security and sustainable development in light of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14. Maritime Security and the Blue Economy are vital policy concepts for sustainable development in the Seychelles. The goal of the dialogue was to discuss the experiences and lessons from Seychelles. Overall, the workshop documented the importance of thinking outside of professional silos and boxes and recognizing the inter-dependence of issues and policies. UniSey intends to continue the policy dialogue on maritime security and the blue economy between international and local researchers, governmental and societal organizations in the future.
